His story
Every word Da Rebelutionist says starts with one man: Luner “DaCulture” Eugene.
Luner is a Haitian-born filmmaker, writer, director, and producer, a former hip-hop recording artist, and the CEO of Lunerversal Production. He wrote and directed Loving Till It Hurts, streaming free on Tubi. His work also includes Bae Night: The Little Black Book and the series Queen’s King. The Tower of Blackness is in post-production, and his book The Lost Language is on the way. He’s building out AI projects too, including the short When They Silence Us; Ankhemu: The Devil Has No Wings, a short he plans to expand; and Currents of Love, a vertical drama he’s creating now.
He created Da Rebelutionist under his label, Lunerversal Music, and he writes every lyric.

Da Rebelutionist grew out of The Lost Language, a book that was itself inspired by The Tower of Blackness. As a recording artist and a filmmaker, Luner has “always believed in the power of music and cinema to influence minds, challenge perspectives, and inspire change.” The band brings those two worlds together “with one purpose: to awaken consciousness and unite our culture.”
He’s not against AI. “It’s just another tool to tell complicated stories that probably would have cost me a fortune to produce,” he says. “As much as I love creating live-action films, I love creating AI short projects to get a quick message out to the community. The story is what drives me.”
Luner wants listeners to look at how they’re living and ask whether their choices are helping them grow. “My message is rooted in empathy, self-respect, love, and unity,” he says. “We have to stop playing the devil’s game of hating, fighting, and killing one another. We cannot build together while remaining divided, and I believe what we listen to, what we watch, and what we practice daily shapes who we become.”
Whether he’s writing a song, a film, or a book, his message is the same: remember “the power we possess when we stand together.”
“I have a big heart, and I genuinely want to see everybody win,” he says. “At the heart of everything I create is a simple belief: our greatest strength isn’t in what we can accomplish individually, but in what we can build together.”
“Our rebellion is refusing to play their game of our destruction.”
